Unveiling the making of the "X-ray Machine & Crystal Ball" for team health & development
On 30 March 2025, 60 people gathered to celebrate the publication of Seok Hian’s first book, "Making Team Dynamics Visible: A Neuro-Linguistic Enneagram Approach To Unlocking Team Performance" and commemorate a significant milestone for the Neuro-Linguistic Enneagram (NLE).
The NLE journey began in late 2018, with Seok Hian, Joseph and Agnes coming together to integrate the insightfulness of the Enneagram personality system with NLP’s generative change abilities. The NLE focuses on helping people shift their limiting patterns beyond just knowing their personality types.
After Mind Transformations’ NLE practitioner certification course started in early 2020, Seok Hian and Ian began work on the NLE Team (NLET) model. Through their work with teams, they realised that team performance does not come from knowing team members’ types or merely addressing the differences among individuals. Great teams are formed when they address the invisible dynamics that run the team.
"Making Team Dynamics Visible" is about deploying the NLET for team development.
Team-level change is not easy. It requires a systemic approach. NLET provides tangible data on how a team functions in terms of their tendencies and team health. Combined with facilitation, NLET makes interventions structured and systematic, and easier for leaders to grasp.
“Making Team Dynamics Visible” is packed with case studies of how NLET is applied in corporate team settings to optimise group dynamics to unlock team effectiveness across four common team touchpoints: Dealing with Challenges, Making Decisions, Interacting & Communicating and Driving for Results.
Guests at the book launch event on 30 March, which comprised Mind Transformations’ community of NLE Practitioners, Enneagram enthusiasts, and representatives of corporate clients, were treated to an interview with Seok Hian to hear the behind-the-scenes stories of NLE, NLET and the writing of the book. During the Q&A, they also tapped her deep expertise and experience in working with team dynamics.
